The Committee on religious Affairs held meeting with delegation from Ukraine

 November 2017 at the request of the Bible society of Uzbekistan to the Committee on religious Affairs held meeting with delegation from Ukraine, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in events associated with the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the reformation.

 

As you know, November 27, 2017 in the building of the Russian Academic drama theatre held a solemn event dedicated to the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the reformation, organized jointly by the Bible society of Uzbekistan and the Centre of full gospel Christians. The program of the event included greetings from representatives of religious organizations of the Republic and invited from neighboring countries guests, musical pieces performed by the chamber orchestra of «Turkiston» and the State choral chapel, as well as short videos on the topic of the influence of the reformation in different spheres of society.

Welcoming the guests the Chairman of the Committee of religious Affairs A. Yusupovemphasized that the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the reformation was a continuation of the vivid events throughout the year take place in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan and mark the further development of inter-ethnic harmony and interreligious tolerance.

Senior Bishop of the Ukrainian Church of Christians of Evangelical faith MichailPanochko, expressing General gratitude for the creation of conditions for holding such a large event.

The head of the Ukrainian Union of churches of Evangelical Christians Baptists Valery Antonyuk, also thanked the Committee for religious Affairs for its assistance in the celebrations, said that the event’s scale was indeed very awesome.

The General Secretary of the Bible society of Uzbekistan KhalmatAshirov, speaking about the process of preparation and holding of the event, said he did not expect such attention from state authorities and from religious denominations. He also noted that the whole essence of the event and its contents emphasized the presence of religious freedom in Uzbekistan and the spirit of tolerance among people of different beliefs.

The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere, in which also participated the Deputy General Secretary of the Ukrainian Bible society AnatoliyRaichynets and consultant of the Committee for religious Affairs, B. Kadyrov.
