Meeting between the Committee of religious Affairs and the Professor of the University of Washington (Seattle, USA) Chris Seiple.

On29 November 2017 at the proposal of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan,  the Committee of religious Affairs  met with a Professor at the University of Washington (Seattle, USA) Chris Seiple. The guest was received by the Chairman of the Committee O. Yusupov and Deputy Chairman U. Hasanbaev.

 

After meeting, O. Yusupov said that due to the celebrations on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the reformation, they have the opportunity to organize several meetings with the guests of the event and mentioned yesterday’s meeting with the Ukrainian delegation. Asked about how well does Chris Seiple know Uzbekistan, O. Yusupov shared with guest information relevant to the development of religious relations in the Republic over the past period of time.

Chris Seiple, thanking for the information, said that, indeed, a time of great change has come in Uzbekistan. Speaking of this, Chris Seiple mentioned that his doctoral thesis was devoted to relations between the U.S. and Uzbekistan and in this casehis early visits to Uzbekistan are really helped.

O. Yusupov said Chris Seiple that the Committee of Religious Affairs in conjunction with the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent in the very near future to organize a joint conference on religious tolerance and invited him to participate in the event.

Chris Seiple thanked for the reception and expressed the wish to continue the development of mutual relations.

The meeting was held in friendly and constructive atmosphere.

 The meeting was attended by the General Secretary of Bible society of Uzbekistan H. Ashirov, an employee of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan N. Abdullaev, head of the Department of Religious Affairs D. Babadzhanov and consultant B. Kadyrov.
