The Word of God – the bread and breath for our spirit.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

                                                                                       (Ps.118:105)

We often do not know where we go, what to do, what to be, how to behave, and most importantly, we do not know what God wants from us, and what to serve Him and the people he expects of us. To all these questions, we can find answers in the Word of God.

God's Word keeps the priceless, wonderful treasures, one of them is God's voice. We can hear the voice because that God speaks to us through His Word exactly when we read or listen to it. And the more we study the Bible, the easier for us to recognize His voice and the less risk to believe satan's lies about God, about myself, about marriage, about children, about sin, etc. Therefore, the study of Sacred Scripture is one of the most important aspects of human life. The Word of God – the bread for our soul. We can not live a full life without him. It is written that «Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceed eth out of the mouth of God» (Matthew 4:4). If we do not eat the Word of God regularly, we are beginning to overcome spiritual hunger, we falter.

The Word of God helps lead our thoughts in order and clearly see the reality, soothes and gives hope. Releases from destructive and harmful thoughts, helps to feel the joy of life in its entirety.

God's Word points to the correct path and provides a solid foundation on which we can build a building full of life. This is a sure way to get closer to God, cleanse your heart and learn to forgive, researching and learning the truth of God, to live in obedience to His will, to control his mind and his emotions, to see in Jesus the Lord of your life and give a fitting rebuff to the enemy of human souls. Through the knowledge of God's Word, we can gain wisdom.Because «The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes» (Psalms 18:8).

And if we live, singing God's commandments, our lives are transformed. We become successfully. «This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.» (Joshua 1:8).

Also, the Word of God shows us how to live in purity, rejoicing in the presence of the Lord in our lives. «Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.» (Psalms 118:9).

Knowledge of the law of God works in us through the action to obedience from execution. «Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end.Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight.» (Psalms 118:33-35).

And then we will have joy from the Lord, because God's Word will impact our heart. «The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether» (Psalms 18:9).

Bible – the book of recipes of spiritual growth.Just being in the reading and hearing God's Word, we grow in faith. «So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God» (Romans 10:17).

Studying the Word of God, we begin to understand, from what we need to be freed from any slavery and from any addiction. We become free! «…If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free» (John 8:31,32).

And the peace of God fills our hearts when we find this world in His Word. The peace which can not either give us or take away people or circumstances.«Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them» (Psalms 118:165).

And, of course, as a consequence, the knowledge of God's truths, teaches us to distinguish good from evil. Not distinguish, as does the world, but as God does. Can we do without God's Word to find out what is good and what is evil? The measure of good and evil for us should be the Word of God, His law. «Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee» (Psalms 118:11).

And no matter how long we go to God's ways, - the Lord is always ready to teach us something new, or to give a better understanding of things we already know, or discover something totally unknown to us before. But not enough to know the truth, you must act in accordance with it. «But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he behold eth himself, and go eth his way, and straightway forgett eth what manner of man he was» (James 1:22-24).

And if we want to get closer to God, if we want to feel his paternal arms, to find the integrity and completeness in Him, if we wish, like unto Christ, to bring good and bountiful harvest, we must vary according to the will of God as described in the Bible. That the Bible is the best textbook for spiritual formation of every human being, because «All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.» (2 Timothy 3:16,17).

The Bible - it is our compass, our guide. Without it we would never reach that purpose which has defined us by God.

Read the Bible, to delve into God's plan.

Amen.
